Denmark Surf Life Saving Club

Our design for the new Denmark SLSC at Ocean Beach nestles into the landscape, opening up views of the Nullaki Peninsula, limestone cliffs and distant Knapp Head. This placement creates a new large grassed public open space where existing buildings currently sit. We have worked with the Club and local community for several years to develop this proposal, and we look forward to proceeding to the next stage - construction - once it is fully funded.

‘It has been a joy and a pleasure to work with Melanie and David over the past 12 months on the Denmark Surf Life Saving Club Transformation Project. They have listened, understood, researched and delivered a concept design that oozes passion and respect for the iconic Ocean Beach location. Melanie and David’s concept designs have shown enormous empathy to the site, provided a stunning sense of style to the form and delivered excellent functionality to the build. We couldn’t be happier!!! I very much look forward to a continued working relationship with PTX Architects as we move into subsequent phases of the project.’

‘We have a long association with the property and wanted to preserve the historic aspect of the old cottage whilst living in a new contemporary house. We also farm the property and the connection to the land is very important to us. Every aspect of the design considers this and has greatly enhanced our relationship to the place. Our brief to PTX Architects was to create something that is inspiring and extraordinary and the design does just that.’
